10th Mountain Division Soldiers Deployed to Iraq Kickstart Recreation Center with Support from OSD

FORT POLK, LOUISIANA February 27, 2018 /For immediate release/ — Deployments are always tough, but many are made even more challenging when the ability to unwind is stifled due to a lack of an MWR or Recreation Center. OSD is making a change with a “Supply Drop” incoming Iraq deployed soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Polk, Louisiana.

PFC Jhordiel K., said, “ I’m just here to see if we can get a little help for our unit with things to make morale better and to help time go faster. We have been deployed to Iraq for since the fall and there isn’t much here to keep us entertained, other than personal things and a small gym.”

“We’re slowly building more things here hopefully we can get a MWR started or a Rec Center. This unit I am in is family now and I do whatever I can to help my family, to make them happier if can.”

Laeth Damon, OSD Warehouse Manager, said, “OSD is thrilled to send support to the 10th Mountain soldiers in Iraq. We love reading these types of requests and will answer in kind with plenty of games and hundreds of cups of Starbucks coffee.”

OSD is sending support from Starbucks, Bezier Games, Steve Jackson Games and other key partners with direct support from Rip It Energy and FanDuel.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted over 150,000 active military personnel this year to troops in scores of locations around the globe.
